BUCHLOV 48 km
Buchlov is one of the oldest castles in the Czech Republic. It is an example of medieval fortification architecture. It contains valuable natural collections and a rich library. The castle is linked to the legend of the Linden Tree of Innocence and the Black Lady.

BUCHLOVICE 45 km
This castle is built in the style of an Italian Baroque villa. It is surrounded by an English landscape park with many valuable plant and tree species of domestic and foreign origin, and in which peacocks, a heraldic symbol of the Petřvaldský clan, freely roam. From June to September there is an exhibition of fuchsias in the park.

HLUK 20 km
Although Hluk is the youngest town in Slovacko (founded in 1970), it has rich folklore traditions – the Dolnacke celebrations of the Royal Journey take place here once every 3 years. The local fortress originates from the mid 16th century (it is currently the town’s cultural centre).

HOLEŠOV 45 km
The dominant feature of the town is the baroque castle, which houses a library, museum and cinema. The castle has an extensive garden with a game park. In the former Jewish quarter there is a synagogue and a Jewish cemetery. There is a local international airport.

HOSTÝN 61 km
Hostýn is a mountain with a Baroque church of the Virgin Mary at its top. This church is the most significant pilgrimage site in Moravia aside from Velehrad.

KOMŇA 27 km
Komňa is a typical mountain village at the foot of the White Carpathians. Komňa, considered one of the likely birthplaces of J. A. Komenský, has a J. A. Komenský museum and memorial. There is also a glassmaking studio in the village.

KROMĚŘÍŽ 55 km
Kroměříž has a well-known Baroque archiepiscopal chateau with a richly decorated interior. It has a large English landscape park called Podzámecká zahrada. The chateau art gallery contains the most expensive painting in the Czech Republic, The Flaying of Marsyas by Titian. The town centre, which includes the Gothic church of St. Mořice and the Baroque church of St. John the Baptist, and also the Flower Garden, has been declared a National Heritage Site Reserve. The town is known as Hanácký Athens.

KUNOVICE 30 km
Kunovice used to be part of Uherské Hradiště, but is now a separate village. Kunovice has an airplane museum, as well as the Kunovice Aero Club. It is also well known for the LET Kunovice a.s. plant, which used to produce low-capacity transport planes, but no longer exists.

KVĚTNÁ 30 km
This village is located close to Javořina, on the border with Slovakia. Products from the local glassworks are sold throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.

LEŠNÁ 35 km
This fabulous castle from the late 19th century is one of the most recently built castles in the Czech Republic. It has elaborate and valuable woodcarving decorations. It is surrounded by an English landscape park, which contains a collection of precious wooden features. In 1956 a zoo was established there.

PIEŠŤANY 79 km
Piešťany is the largest spa town in Slovakia. The area’s hydrogen sulphide springs and sulphurous mud are used to treat a number of debilitating medical conditions. There are also several public thermal pools available. The town is known for the Viktorie Regie national competition in floristry and flower arranging. The unique Balneological Museum documenting the development of spas in Slovakia is also worth mentioning.

ROŽNOV POD RADHOŠTĚM 74 km
This town is primarily known for the Wallachian Museum, founded by the Jaroňkovi brothers in 1925. It is comprised of three parts: the wooden town, the Wallachian village and the mill valley. A number of cultural events take place in the museum over the course of the year, e.g. fairs, Christmas at the Museum, Blacksmiths’ days, Bakers’ Sunday, Folklore Summer, etc.

STARÉ MĚSTO 35 km
This is the former centre of the Greater Moravian Empire and contains the Greater Moravia monument, which is an archaeological site with valuable excavations from the 9th and 10th centuries.

TRENČIANSKE TEPLICE 35 km
This is one of the most prominent spa towns in Slovakia and is known for treatment of impaired mobility. The town traces its origins to the 14th century. An architectural point of interest is the Sina spa building, which contains the Hamman spas and was built in the Moorish style.

TRENČÍN 62 km
This is a historical town with a castle dating from the 11th century. The Roman inscription on the rock face relates that in 179 A.D. the northernmost Roman military settlement in central Europe, called Laugaritio, was located here.

TUPESY 42 km
This small village at the foot of the Buchlovský hills is one of the most well known pottery villages in south-eastern Moravia. The origins of Tupesy pottery production reach back to the 9th century and in the 18th century several potter families operated in the village. House No. 18 is a cultural monument to the local ceramics tradition and a testament to past and present methods of production.

UHERSKÝ BROD 13 km
This is the likely birthplace of J. A. Komenský. The local museum of J.A.K. documents the life and works of this teacher and reformer and describes the historical development of Uherský Brod, which was formerly a royal town.

UHERSKÉ HRADIŠTĚ 33 km
This is a significant cultural and social centre and contains a Slovácké museum, Slovácké theatre and the Hvězda cinema. The historical part of the town includes monuments from the 15th to the 19th centuries: a pharmacy, the town hall, Baroque Franciscan church, marble pillar, Baroque fountain, etc.

VELEHRAD 43 km
The most significant pilgrimage site in Moravia is connected with the history of the Greater Moravian Empire and with the arrival of the missionaries Constantine and Metoděj. The former 13th century Gothic church was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century. In 1990, Pope John Paul II led mass here.

VIZOVICE 20 km
Tourists should certainly visit the Baroque castle, which is richly decorated with valuable paintings and a collection of porcelain, the renowned R. Jelínek distillery, and last but not least the glass studio. There are excursions to the R. Jelínek distillery, which includes tasting of Slivovice and other famous and popular spirits, and to the glass studio. Both offer their products for sale in their visitor’s shops. Trnkobraní, a fruit-grower celebration with Slivovice tasting and a famous plum dumpling eating competition, takes place here.
