Spa colonnade with singing fountain

The Singing Fountain is undoubtedly one of the main landmarks of Mariánské Lázně. Together with the Main Colonnade and the pavilion of the Cross Spring, it is one of the most significant monuments of the city. From April to the end of October, visitors have a unique opportunity every odd hour to experience a unique artistic experience accompanied by classical music. Near the fountain, you can also visit the colonnade of Caroline's Spring, Ambrose's Springs, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, or Goethe Square and the museum.

Nature park at Prelátův pramen

Set out to a picturesque place where a park gradually turns into a forest, lined with a stream and two ponds. While young visitors can have fun in the water world filled with streams, waterfalls, or water wheels, adults and the more adventurous can try out the cable car, or simply be enchanted by the charm of this place and relax.

For all age groups, especially for train enthusiasts, there is also a large wooden train station where you can try the role of a locomotive driver or become a passenger on the train. Hunger can be staved off at one of the local fire pits where you can roast sausages. For the perfect entertainment of the young visitors, there's surely a children's cable car, a children's playground, climbing structures, a dry slide, an Indian totem, a climbing pyramid with a slide, an amphitheater, a clay cave, and a wooden bear. All attractions are made only from natural materials.

Ferdinandův pramen

Take a pleasant walk from the OREA Spa Hotel Cristal through a park with a children's playground, sandbox, slide, and rope climbing structure. A convenient and welcome advantage is the adjacent cafe with a garden, from where you will have a comfortable view of the children.

Continue along the stream to the colonnade with probably the most famous spring of Mariánské Lázně - the Ferdinand Spring. The spring is surrounded by beautiful parks with colorful flowers, shrubs, and trees, designed for the local area by the renowned artistic gardener Václav Skalník. The route then continues along the stream to Rudolf's spring. In the upper part of the park by the railway, you can entertain the children as part of the "Colorful Path" project, where they await fun in the form of games and tasks.

The end of the route can be enhanced with refreshment, entertaining adventure, or relaxation in the natural park by the Prelate's spring.

Cable car to Boheminium Park

In addition to miniatures of Czech landmarks, you will be greeted by a large children's playground, and there will be no shortage of a restaurant and draft ice cream. Animal lovers will enjoy the permanent exhibition of mini animals - little horses, sheep, goats. Of course, you can also arrive by car, a spacious parking lot is prepared for visitors. Enjoy an unforgettable experience for you and your children by riding the oldest cable car in the Czech Republic!

Besides the cable car itself, you can look forward to a sculptural paradise of fairy tales with a gingerbread house, a dragon, Prince Bajaja, and the very mountain spirit, Krakonoš.

The nearby Boheminium park is not only the fourth largest miniature park in Europe but also the most visited monument in the Karlovy Vary region. You can look forward to miniatures of the most famous Czech landmarks in one place. The park is open year-round regardless of weather or public holidays.

Deer enclosure of Hvozd Hvozd and Hamelika lookout tower

Not far from the Boheminium park, a little further along the asphalt road, is the deer enclosure of Hvozd, which provides a home not only to the beautiful fallow deer but also to roe deer and stags. Thanks to the convenient observation point directly in front of the enclosure, you can comfortably observe the animals without subjecting them to even the slightest stress. If you continue further down, you will reach the panorama of the Koliba ski slope, and a little further on, the Hamelika lookout tower from which you can see part of the Bohemian Forest with the Dylen peak.

Forest spring, Laskova Chapel and geological park

The Forest Spring is located in the park behind the city theater. It is a mineral water, whose inhalation or gargling significantly helps mainly in the treatment of respiratory diseases, but also with digestive system issues. Not far from the spring, you can also view the statues of Goethe and Muse or the commemorative stone of the writer Václav Beneš Třebízský. Worth noting is also the local music pavilion with the statue of the Three Graces, which serves as a pavilion for musical performances during the summer.

The Laskova Chapel is hidden in the forest at the entrance to the geological park. It is a neo-Gothic building, also known as the "Chapel of Love".

The educational trail through the geological park introduces the geological structure and plant communities of the Slavkov Forest. During the outdoor exhibition, you can view not only well-known but also rarer rocks from selected locations of the Slavkov Forest and familiarize yourself with the geological history of the Karlovy Vary region. The trail ends at the city museum and the singing fountain.

Golf Club Mariánské Lázně

The Golf Club Mariánské Lázně course is a typical example of a classic Scottish and Irish course of its time. The eighteen-hole course, nestled at the foot of the Slavkov Forest, was officially opened on 21.08.1905 by English King Edward VII. Thanks to the rich coniferous forests, even on hot summer days, one can play in a pleasant environment, which additionally offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Natural swimming pool Lido

The natural swimming area Lido is located in the middle of forests approximately 2 kilometers from the city center. For water lovers, there is a sandy and grassy beach, boat rentals, pedal boats, badminton, table tennis, footvolley and volleyball courts, sun loungers, a snack kiosk, changing cabins, and showers. Parking is available directly on-site and is free of charge.

Chip & Putt Public Golf Course

Near the Golf Club Mariánské Lázně, there is a public nine-hole course, suitable for those who are new to golf or those who haven't had the opportunity to try out this fascinating game. Set aside any reservations and come experience the joy of playing. Non-players or accompanying persons will be royally taken care of on their sunny terrace with a bar. From here, you'll have a clear view of the entire course. The possibility of renting clubs and getting basic technique tips from the staff is available.

Kladská Nature Trail

North of Mariánské Lázně, you will find one of the most beautiful places in the Cheb region. It is a pond and hunting chateau Kladská, which is located right in the heart of the Protected Landscape Area Slavkovský les.

With a beautiful walk along wooden paths, offering views of the water's surface and surrounding nature, you can perfectly clear your mind from everyday stress. Throughout the trail, you can observe animal tracks and leaf imprints, which will entertain not only children but also adult visitors. A romantic pavilion by the smaller pond serves as the perfect base for observing fish and wild ducks.

Spa Kynžvart

The dominant feature of Lázně Kynžvart is undoubtedly the classicist castle with its vast English park and the spa specialized in treating children as well as adult treatments. In the spa part of the town, you will find numerous children's playgrounds, several springs, pavilions, a colonnade, a well-maintained park, and also inviting cafés for a pleasant sit-down.

In the lower part of the spa stands the aforementioned pride of the town - Kynžvart Castle, surrounded by castle gardens and golf courses. Not far away, you can also visit the beautiful romantic Chapel of the Holy Cross, which is particularly sought after for weddings due to its romantic atmosphere.

Smraďoch Nature Reserve

This reserve owes its unflattering and unconventional name to the characteristic smell of hydrogen sulfide, reminiscent of rotten eggs, which emanates from the depths of the earth here. The compensation for this discomfort is a unique landscape, which a short, easy, and barrier-free path will guide us through. During the journey, visitors can learn a lot about the formation of the peat bog, about the rare species of plants present here, and about the unique small geysers. You can extend your trip to the source of the famous Farská mineral water, which springs about a kilometer from here and is accessed by a clearly marked path. Farská mineral water is the highest located mineral spring in the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area.

Parking is available at the car park on the edge of the forest, next to the road at the beginning of the Smraďoch educational trail.

Tourist train in Mariánské Lázně

In the summer months, take a sightseeing ride by a motor trolley around Mariánské Lázně. If the weather is favorable, the trolley operates daily from mid-April to mid-October. The popular city tour will take you about 40 minutes.

Boarding is possible at the Info CUP Vital stop - 100 meters from the OREA Spa Hotel Bohemia at 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00.

Note: The start and end of the ride are always at the Info CUP Vital stop. You can get on and off at the Hotel Harmonie and Koliba stops. The entire route takes approximately 40 minutes.

At Koliba, you can transfer to a cable car, which ends at the hotel Krakonoš and the Boheminium miniature park.

Františkovy Lázně

Františkovy Lázně is a picturesque town that has preserved the romantic atmosphere of the early 20th century. Its parks are the ideal place for peaceful walks accompanied by the sounds of music from the colonnades. Due to its unique ambiance, the spa town is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Active individuals can visit the local Aquaforum. It is a complex of swimming pools with a wellness center, saunas, a slide, and other water attractions. For a peaceful relaxation, there's an outdoor garden with sun loungers available.

But even around Františkovy Lázně, there are many points of interest, such as the Soos nature reserve. In this reserve, you will have the opportunity to explore local peat bogs with ponds, mineral springs, an educational trail, a geological park, and a museum of prehistoric animals.

Cheb

Cheb offers its visitors a truly unique gem. This undoubtedly refers to the Cheb Špalíček, which combines eleven closely packed townhouses separated by the narrow Kramářská alley. Also worth a visit is Cheb Castle with its Black Tower and casemates, the leisure area Krajinka, or the Museum housed in the former Town House.

Located directly in the Špalíček is the local renowned ice cream parlor, a treat for all sweet-toothed enthusiasts.

Bečov nad Teplou

Discover one of the most valuable and rare monuments of European significance, with a value approaching that of the Czech crown jewels – the Reliquary of St. Maurus, which is on display in the local castle, one of the best-preserved in the Czech Republic. Children can look forward to two special children's tours or pass the time waiting for a tour in the children's corner with a slide or sandbox.

During your visit to Bečov, don't miss the local botanical garden. The extensive park is located outside the castle grounds opposite the train station across the river. The botanical garden boasts an eco-center with a year-round classroom, a natural playground, the first Czech bio-ferrata, educational trails, the Crown Pond with beaches and boats, a campsite, and a shop.

Loket

The town of Loket stretches out on a prominent rock promontory with a magnificent Romanesque castle, which is also the most visited local monument. Directly below the castle, you can visit the Baroque-modified, late Gothic Church of St. Wenceslas, and a little further on the square, the Baroque column of the Holy Trinity.

In the romantic surroundings of the castle grounds, there is a unique natural amphitheater, where various cultural events, theater and opera performances, concerts, and festivals take place against the mysterious backdrop of the illuminated castle. If you continue further along the river to the park, a reward for you, especially for your little ones, will be a natural children's playground where children of all age groups can have fun.

Family brewery Chodovar

In Karlovy Vary, you will find about eighty thermal springs, of which the most famous, the Karlovy Vary Hot Spring, is the hottest thermal spring in the Czech Republic.
