Nový Hrad u Adamova 

A restored 14th-century ruin towering above the Svitava River valley, where one instantly feels as if they have traveled back to the Middle Ages. You can leave your car in the parking lot near Adamov train station – stop, where the trail begins. The journey from the hotel will take you approximately 20 minutes. Then you can choose either a 9 km route suitable even for strollers, or a one-kilometer shorter route, which is not recommended for strollers.

Čertův hrádek

A 5.5 km educational trail, leading from Olomoučany, introduces visitors to historical and natural attractions. In the summer, you can refresh yourself at several springs. The trail starts in Olomoučany and leads through Čertův hrádek, Výří skála, the Tetřev spring, and back to Olomoučany. You can visit it all year round, and the best way to get there is by car via Blansko, which takes approximately 12 minutes.

Ruins of Holštejn Castle 

Holštejn Castle, hidden on a limestone spur close to the village of the same name, represents a mysterious place full of history and natural beauty. Undoubtedly, its most interesting part is the Hladomorna cave, bricked up in the Middle Ages and used as a prison. The agonizing fate of the condemned is evidenced by the numerous skeletal remains and pieces of clothing that have been found here during excavations.

Today, the castle is known not only for its history but also as a wintering site for protected bats, which is why the Hladomorna cave is not accessible to the public. However, you can glimpse into the bowels of the cave at least through the entrance.

Nature Trail Údolí Říčky 

An educational trail measuring 7 km, which can be visited year-round, leading from Hádek near Brno, takes visitors through the territory of the Údolí Říčky Nature Reserve, which is a significant geological and natural site located in the protected landscape area of the Moravian Karst. The trail starts in Hádek and leads through Hádek Pond, the Říčka Valley, to the crossroads of the Ochozské Caves, a detour to Kaprálov Mill, and all the way to the Pekárna Cave.

The route can be freely adjusted to a length of 3 - 7 km according to physical fitness.

Rudické propadání

The Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area is abundant in rock formations, cave systems, and diverse natural monuments. One of them is Rudické propadání – a karst system near the village of Rudice, which attracts visitors for short trips by bike or on foot. Rudické propadání is a picturesque location along the Jedovnický creek, which disappears before your eyes and flows into an underground karst system.

In the underground, there is the second longest cave system in the Czech Republic, but unfortunately, it is not accessible, and entry into the underground spaces is prohibited for non-speleologists. However, the beautiful nature, the rushing creek, and the terrain suitable for strollers make Rudické propadání a place you definitely don't want to miss.

Babí lom Nature Reserve 

The Babí lom nature reserve consists of a rocky, 2.6 km long ridge, on top of which you will be rewarded with a view from a freely accessible lookout tower. You can choose one of the 5 different hiking trails. A red-marked hiking trail passes through part of the main ridge, leading from Lelekovice to Vranov. You can easily park your car in Lelekovice, Vranov or Podlesí.

Sloupsko-šošůvské caves

The Sloupsko-šošůvské Caves, the largest accessible caves in the Czech Republic, attract visitors to a unique underground world full of houses, passages and abysses spread over two levels with a total height difference of 60 metres. During the winter months, when reservations are required, you can enjoy a torchlight tour, with part of the caves serving as a sanctuary for hibernating bats.

The Shed Cave, part of the tour route, is an archaeological gem with finds of Neanderthal bones dating back up to 45,000 years.

Blanice Knights Cave Rudka 

The Blanice Knights Cave is a labyrinth of corridors carved into sandstone, where you can admire 20 beautiful sculptures alongside a guide. This unique work is located near the town of Kunštát, on the outskirts of the village of Rudka, in the heart of a hill called Milenka. You can reach it by car in about 30 minutes.

Punkevní Caves

Macocha is an abyss located in the Moravian Karst, one of the rarest natural sites in the Czech Republic. With a depth of 138 metres, it is a remarkable natural phenomenon that attracts a large number of tourists every year. If you book your seats on the tour of the Punkva Caves in time, you can even take a boat ride through some of the accessible tunnels and enjoy the breathtaking stalactite decoration on the walls to the full.

Větrný mlýn Rudnice

The windmill in the village of Rudice is a unique historical landmark. This windmill was built in the 19th century and has been preserved in very good condition, although its blades are no longer movable. In the past, the mill was used for grinding grain and producing flour.

Today, the Rudice Windmill is a popular place for tourists who can learn more about speleology, mine-archaeology and see examples of period housing. Right next to the mill, you can have a bite to eat and a cold drink in the small bistro.

Lookout tower Žernovník

Žernovník lookout tower, situated in a picturesque environment near Rájec-Jestřebí in the Blansko region, represents a fascinating transformation of an old water tower into an extraordinary viewpoint. This unique hexagonal tower, 15.5 meters high, built from larch columns and steel cables, boasts an oak double staircase and floors. From its viewing platform, located at an altitude of 455 meters and accessible by 63 steps, a panoramic view unfolds, including the Svratka Highlands, the Drahanská Highlands, the Hořický ridge, and, under good weather conditions, even the Jeseníky Mountains, Boskovice Castle, or Pálava. 

Porčův Mill 

Porčův Mlýn is a historic preserved and operational mill from the 16th century located in the village of Býkovice. Visitors can see various tools that helped the miller with his work, as well as residential spaces where he lived with his family. Inside the mill, there is a large sifting room used for sieving flour. In the courtyard, you can also see a collection of old agricultural machinery.

Meteoradar Skalky

A tower 35 meters high was built in 1995 near the highest peak of the Drahanská Highlands, Skalky (735 m above sea level). The collected data is used to estimate the immediate distribution and intensity of precipitation, as well as to issue warnings for hazardous weather phenomena at both national and international levels. Unfortunately, this facility is not accessible to the public and can only be admired from the outside.

The surrounding area of the transmitter offers many attractions that you can visit along with it. Examples of such places include the source of the Luha River or the nearby Sušský Pond.
