Snezka

Giant Mountains

Sněžka, with an altitude of 1,603 metres, is not only the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, but also an important symbol of the Krkonoše Mountains. Its unique peak, which thanks to glacial erosion takes the shape of a stone pyramid, attracts nature lovers and tourists looking for unforgettable views of the Czech and Polish territory. At the top you can visit the circular chapel of St. Lawrence, which has been there since 1665, a Polish hut with a meteorological station from 1976 and the new Czech post office, built between 2005 and 2006. From Pec pod Sněžkou it is possible to use the cable car.
