Brno embankment

Brno

The Brno embankment is a modern and open promenade area along the Svratka River in the vicinity of Poříčí and Rullerovo nábřeží streets, which was created as part of an extensive project of flood control measures and revitalisation of the city's riverbanks. It is a significant urban transformation that brings the city closer to the river and offers residents and visitors new opportunities for spending their free time.

The project, which began in 2022 and opened to the public in the summer of 2025, has created paths for pedestrians and cyclists, relaxation areas with views of the water, and a high-quality public space between the Riviéra swimming pool and the city centre. The paths are part of a wider network of cycle and walking routes along the river and are used for walking, running and recreational cycling.

The embankment is lined with greenery and new surfaces that create a pleasant environment in close proximity to the water. The project emphasises making the river accessible to people and connecting urban life with natural elements, while also playing an important role in protecting Brno from flooding.

Ideal for an afternoon stroll, meeting friends or active relaxation in the fresh air.
