What can you see at Boheminium Park?

In the park, you’ll see more than 75 detailed models of castles, châteaux and technical monuments from the Czech Republic, all on a scale of 1:25. The models are scattered throughout the landscape, which you walk through during your visit. You’ll find dozens of structures here, such as Karlštejn Castle, the Stone Bridge in Písek and the Ještěd TV tower. In the park’s café stands a model of the battleship Bismarck. The park adds new features every year.

How do you get to Boheminium Park?

The park is situated on the eastern outskirts of Mariánské Lázně, on the grounds near the Krakonoš Hotel. You can reach it from the spa town by cable car, on foot, by bike or by bus. The Koliba–Krakonoš cable car has been operating since 1993; it is just under a kilometre long and climbs 160 metres. The top station is situated at an altitude of 761 metres above sea level. The cable car’s operating hours may vary throughout the year, so please check the current timetable before your trip.

What else can you find at the cable car’s upper station?

Next to the top station stands the Rübezahl building, dating from 1903, which was originally built as a fairytale-themed café for day-trippers. Rübezahl is the older German form of the name Krakonoš, and behind the building stands a statue of Krakonoš. The fairy-tale trail, with several stops along the way, also begins at the top station. From the park, you can walk to the Obůrka Hvozd game reserve, home to red deer and fallow deer, and to the Hamelika lookout tower, which offers a partial view of the town.

When to go and what to bring?

The park is open all year round, every day including weekends and public holidays. Opening hours vary throughout the year, so please check the current opening times and admission fees at boheminium.cz. Dogs on a short lead are permitted. You can hire trekking poles and push bikes directly from the OREA reception; there’s no need to bring them from home.
