The Court Garden was founded in 1946. Less than 20 years later, Josef Vágner became its head. A forester, naturalist, traveller, teacher, father and the most important director of the garden. He managed to bring back nearly 2,000 animals from his legendary expeditions to Africa. In the Dvůr Králové Safari Park you can expect the true African experience - a real safari among the free-roaming herds of animals and the only Lion Safari in Central Europe, which can be driven by truck, bus, your own car or safari hybrid, which you can rent for free (reservation required in advance). A walking tour will then take you among the largest group of giraffes bred outside Africa or to the rhinos for which the Court Safari Park is famous. You can also book in advance for one of the experiential programmes, such as the giraffe feeding, which will delight not only young visitors.
