Brno

The original air-raid shelter was built during World War II as a shelter from the American and Soviet bombing of Brno. Since 1946, it was used by the Löwy and Šmíd wine wholesaler, which was seized by the communists two days after the coup in February 1948. The atomic shelter was completed in 1959, its capacity was to hold up to 500 people important for the management of the city and the region for three days. In 2016, the shelter, located right in the center of the city, was opened to the public as a rare technical monument.
