Cave of the Blanic Knights in Rudka

Moravian Karst
The Blanické Knights' Cave in Rudka u Kunštátu is a unique underground monument inspired by the famous Czech legend of the sleeping knights under Mount Blaník. It was created in the sandstone hill Milenka at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the self-taught sculptor Stanislav Rolínek, who carved 17 impressive figures of knights and a monumental statue of St. Wenceslas on horseback into the rock. The entrance to the cave is guarded by a massive stone lion, one of his first works. The area is complemented by a forest park with an open-air gallery where sculpture symposiums are held, a Sensory Garden for perceiving nature with all the senses and a lookout tower from which, in good weather, you can see the Jeseníky Mountains, the Krkonoše Mountains or the Pálava Mountains. This place offers not only the magic of legends, but also beautiful views
