The landscape around Cheb is the perfect place to combine a short trip, some outdoor activity and relaxation by the river. It lies on both banks of the Ohře, directly below Cheb Castle, and is about a 30-minute drive from the OREA hotels in Mariánské Lázně.

The area is particularly suitable for families with children who want a variety of activities all in one place. You can take a stroll along the river, stop off at the playground, try your hand at mini-golf, enjoy the water features or visit the ropes course. If you fancy a bike ride as well, you can join the Ohře Cycle Route directly from Krajinka. Before you set off on your trip, don’t forget to pack a snack at breakfast. At OREA, you can put together your own snack to suit your taste and pack it into the bags provided.

Why visit Krajinka?

In one place, you’ll find children’s playgrounds, sports facilities, mini-golf, water play areas, a ropes course, a picnic meadow and a viewing tower by the Vávra Footbridge. Thanks to its location near the historic centre, you can also combine your trip with a short stop in Cheb.

Children will find plenty to keep them entertained here, whatever their age or interests, whilst parents will appreciate the chance to sit for a while by the river or on one of the summer terraces. Krajinka therefore works well both as a destination in its own right and as a stop-off before a cycle ride along the Ohře.

Cycling along the Ohře

From Krajinka, you can join the Ohře Cycle Path, which runs along a flat, tarmac section beside the river. It’s also suitable for younger or novice cyclists, as you can decide for yourselves how long your ride will be today. Simply set off along the path and turn back whenever you feel like it.

Younger children who haven’t yet learnt to ride a bike can hire a balance bike directly from the OREA reception.

Where to park?

If you’re travelling by car, you can use the car park on Kasární náměstí. From there, it’s just a short walk to Krajinka, Cheb Castle and the start of the cycle path. Another option is the smaller car park near Cheb Castle on E. Krásnohorská Street or in the surrounding streets, though there may be fewer spaces available there.
