Forest refreshment room at the spring of Řezná
Below Pancíř, near Železná Ruda, you will find a small forest refreshment centre by the Řezná spring. Drinks are cooled directly in the spring water and the path to the spring is a pleasant destination for families with children.
The refreshment room is situated in the middle of the forest, below the top of Pancíř. The wooden tubs hold drinks that are cooled by the water from the first metres of the River Řezná. The offer includes, for example, "Vylov Limo", a grapefruit or raspberry lemonade, as well as "Vylov Beer" with its original label. The refreshment room is unmanned, so you can actually fish out the drinks yourself, pay cash at the cash register or via QR code and return the empty bottle. The menu is subject to replenishment, so it's a good idea not to rely on it alone and bring your own water on the trip.
Řezná springs in the Prameniště Nature Reserve on the southern slope of Pancír, at an altitude of over 1,000 metres. From there it continues towards the border, in Germany it is called Regen and its water continues towards the Danube. The spring itself is a valuable area of the Šumava region, so it is important to follow the marked paths and be respectful of the place.
The refreshment room can be reached, for example, from Gerlova Hut along the Snake Trail. The trail leads through the forest through the Řezná Spring and is suitable for children. Along the way, you will meet educational and playful stops that introduce you to local nature and make the walk a pleasant family outing.
The trip to the spring can also be done with a pram. An all-terrain stroller is best, as the path leads through the forest and can be uneven in places.
