Below Pancíř, not far from Železná Ruda, you’ll find a small forest refreshment spot by the Řezná spring. Drinks are chilled here directly in the spring water, and the walk there makes for a pleasant outing, even for families with children.

Fetch your own drink

The refreshment stand stands in the middle of the forest, below the summit of Pancíř. Drinks are stored in wooden tubs, cooled by water from the first few metres of the Řezná River. The range usually includes, for example, ‘Vylov Limo’ – grapefruit or raspberry lemonade – as well as ‘Vylov beer’ with its original label. The refreshment stand is self-service, so you really do fish out your own drink, pay in cash into the collection box or via a QR code, and return the empty bottle. The selection depends on what’s currently in stock, so it’s best not to rely on it alone and to bring your own water on the trip.

Řezné Spring

The Řezná spring rises in the Prameniště Nature Reserve on the southern slope of Pancíř, at an altitude of over 1,000 metres. From there, it flows towards the border; in Germany it is known as the Regen, and its waters continue on towards the Danube. The spring area itself is a valuable part of the Šumava region, so it is important to stick to the marked paths and treat the area with respect.

How do you get to the refreshment hut?

You can walk to the refreshment area from Gerlova Huť along the Snake Trail, for example. The route leads through the forest via the Řezné Spring Area and is suitable for children too. Along the way, you’ll come across educational and playful stops that introduce you to the local nature and turn the walk into a pleasant family outing.

The trip to the spring area can also be managed with a pushchair. An all-terrain pushchair is best, as the path leads through uneven woodland terrain in places.
