Wolf enclosure
The wolf enclosure near Srní in the Šumava Mountains is one of the most popular destinations for visitors wishing to encounter the predator that is making a comeback in the Czech countryside – the grey wolf. The site is located near the village of Srní and offers a unique opportunity to observe wolves in an environment that closely resembles their natural habitat. The enclosure covers an area of over 3 hectares and is criss-crossed by a wooden walkway approximately 300 metres long, ending in a viewing platform at a height from which you can spot the wolves without disturbing them. The information centre on the site provides insights into the life of wolves, their return to the wild and their relationship with humans. The enclosure is open all year round free of charge and, thanks to the easily accessible path, is also suitable for pushchairs and families with children.
