Perštejn Castle

Highlands

Pernštejn Castle rises above the valley of the Svratka River near Nedvědice and at first glance it looks like a fortress from a fairy tale. It was founded in the 13th century as the seat of the Lords of Medlov and Pernštejn and is still one of the best preserved medieval castles in the Czech Republic. On site, you can walk through the castle courtyard and other tours and enjoy the atmosphere of the stone, towers and defensive elements.
With a stroller you can easily get to the castle courtyard, so you won't miss the castle scenery even with small children. However, you can't go inside the castle with a stroller, and it's better to have a carrier or be prepared to put the stroller down for stairs and narrow places.
