Svratka City Museum

Highlands

The Municipal Museum and Gallery in Svratka is a small but surprisingly rich stop that takes you back to the life of the town during the First Republic. Regional history and crafts meet themes of post-war commerce in the exhibitions, including a section dedicated to the "Jednota Store". In the individual houses, some of which are accessible, you can see displays of a housewife, a plumber, a potter, a thrift shop, a shoemaker, a ski manufacturer, a school, a hatter, a furrier and a tailor, and a colonial newsagent.

It also includes a gallery of Highland painters, so you'll take away not only stories, but also a piece of the local atmosphere.
In addition, the museum keeps up the tradition of Christmas exhibitions that bring out a different Christmas every year.

As the museum is located in the attic, it is not advisable to venture here with a pram.
