The Vysočina Arena National Sports Centre is situated near Nové Město na Moravě. The complex is primarily used for hosting sporting events, but also offers a wide range of sporting activities for the public. In summer, it offers a roller-skating track, running trails and access to a network of singletrack trails for mountain bikes. In winter, it is used for cross-country skiing and biathlon.

Among the most significant events hosted here are the 2013 and 2024 Biathlon World Championships and the 2016 Mountain Bike World Championships. Fans of these sports can walk around the venues they recognise from television broadcasts.

The journey by car from the OREA Resort Devět Skal to the Vysočina Arena complex takes approximately twenty minutes.

Summer on two wheels

In summer, the biggest attraction is the Cyklo Arena Vysočina. Adults can choose from trails of varying difficulty, ranging from the easiest to routes that form part of world-class races, set off on a running circuit, or relax in the café next to the bike hire shop. There’s something for everyone, from more athletic riders to those who simply want to try off-road cycling without having to plan a long route.

The Bejby Trail is mainly for young cyclists. The purple-marked circuit is one kilometre long and is designed for the youngest cyclists. It runs through easy-to-navigate terrain in a more open part of the forest. The trail is playful, with plenty of bends, and helps children gain confidence in handling their bikes without having to tackle any challenging technical sections. For young cyclists, it’s a good first step from a standard cycle path to gentle off-road terrain.

It’s a good idea to check the current opening hours of the site and the condition of the trails before you go. Access to some areas may be restricted during races, training sessions or event preparations.
