Vysočina Arena
The National Sports Centre Vysočina Arena is located near Nové Město na Moravě. It is primarily intended for sporting events, but also offers a wide range of sporting activities for the public. In the summer it offers a roller coaster, cross-country trails and a connection to a network of singletrack for mountain bikes. In winter it is used for cross-country skiing and biathlon.
Major events held include the 2013 and 2024 World Biathlon Championships and the 2016 World Mountain Bike Championships. Fans of these sports may also find it interesting to visit places they know from TV broadcasts.
The drive from the OREA Resort Devět Skal to the Vysočina Arena takes approximately twenty minutes.
In summer, the biggest attraction is the Vysočina Cycling Arena. Adults can choose from trails here. The trails vary in difficulty, from the easiest to those that are part of world-class races, go on a running circuit or sit in the café at the bike rental. More sporty riders and those who just want to try off-road riding without having to plan a long route will find a place to enjoy.
Small cyclists especially like the Baby Trail. The purple marked circuit is one kilometre long and is designed for the smallest cyclists. It leads through clear terrain in the more open part of the forest. The trail is playful, has lots of turns and helps children to gain confidence in controlling the bike without being exposed to difficult technical elements. For young cyclists, it's a good first step from a traditional bike path to easy terrain.
It's a good idea to check the current traffic of the area and the condition of the trails before you go. During races, training or event preparation, access to some areas may be restricted.
